Fs9 Aerosoft Luxembourg Airports Ellx Approach

11/7/2017

I am one of 3 authors of new LYBE v4.0 (Belgrade, Serbia) scenery for MSFS2004 and I have decided to convert our work using FS2XPLANE 3.11. Our scenery has compleatly custom made GMAX ground (photoground, taxiways, taxilines, parking lines.) At my firs attempt to convert the scenery I got some strange thing. For example all taxilines, dirt layers and custom made rwy markings looks like they are floting above the ground and that's why some markings are not at propper place.

Just lok at the picture of parking position. [IMG]What is the solution of this problem?

Dec 18, 2012 - 2 min - Uploaded by Hessen MohebFSX Luxembourg Approach ( HD ) was created under Microsoft's Game Content Usage Rules.

Should I correct airport elevation, or just correct elevation of objects (.obj)? How can I precisely manipulate with the elevation of.obj anyway? I can't find that option in overlay editor. There is nothing that tels me on what altitude above ground level is my object. I'll realy apriciate your help since this scenery is going to be released as a freeware for XPLANE if I correct those bugs and it will stay payware for FS. Just point me to proper tutorials please.

In rendering options uncheck the 'runway follows contour' box. XP can only draw pol. Files following the ground contours. In most cases fs2xp cannot build the correct object hierarchie, therefor you need to tweak some obj. Files using any text editor, filling in ATTR_layer_ground objects +1, or runways 1 and so on.

And you have to correct obj. Attributes (starts with ATTR ) to avoid flickering or floating textures A good source for all those attributes is Hope, that helps a little bit Michael. There is no method of specifying that a particular instance of an object should be placed at an absolute altitude or an an altitude relative to the surface.

If you are creating scenery for X-Plane from scratch then this is no big deal, you just build your scenery appropriately. However,it causes real problems with conversions from MSFS due to that sim's concept of absolute altitude object placement, especially when it comes to ground textures. You need to consider editing the converted objects in Blender or Ac3D to a just their point of origin to be on or just above ground level. Even then,.obj files are not the recommended format for portraying ground textures.

For that you are recommended to use draped polygons,.pol, but that is a bigger conversion task.
Hi, I need to modify runway and taxiway models. Is it possible to import them to some 3d tool?

As I understand now, the runways and taxiways are not exported to *.obj files but are generic? (not 100% sure). But basically I would like to import one FSX airport, modify in 3d tool runway/taxiway and then use it. Thank you in advance, Miro
Fs2xplane will create an apd.dat (or fullapt.dat) file for you. You can import it into the WED tool and modify it if you need. Then export a new apt.dat from WED and there you have it!
I see.but is there a way to import it for example to Blender or other tool?

Also with marking etc?
X-Plane airport layout data (and FS AFCAD data) is a highly customised format representing layouts in two dimensional and single point entities that are 'draped' or 'projected' onto the 3D terrain by the sim's rendering engine. There is also a considerable amount of metadata that a 3D editor wouldn't have a clue about (Radio frequencies, sign content, etc). There is an existing specific tool for editing this data (WED). What advantage would importing it to a 3D editor give you, even if there was a plugin/scripts to convert and manage this data in it? Some things in MSFS are just not supported by Fs2xplane.

Animations are probably difficult to translate into the corresponding X-plane mechanism due to how the sims are built. The differences are just too fundamental. So Fs2xplane is a 'best effort' tool. It will do what it can, and then you have to judge if the result is good enough or not. Sometimes objects must be adjusted. I have several cases where the textures don't line up properly on parts of objects.

In those cases you have to use a 3D editor like Blender to fix the problems. Or just live with the errors if they are not too big. What you get from Fs2xplane are two distinctive parts: 1. An airport layout with runways and taxiways. Depending on how the FS9 scenery was built the layout may partly be implemented by polygon objects. If not, it should all be in the apt.dat file.

A DSF overlay with corresponding objects for all the buildings etc. Sometimes the taxiway layout becomes polygon objects as I said above. If you want to edit the airport layout, use World Editor (WED) available here: It operates on the apt.dat file as mentioned earlier If you want to mess around with the DSF overlay and placement of all the objects it refers to, use Overlay Editor available here: http://www.marginal.org.uk/x-planescenery/tools.html. Hi, I'm not sure if I'm on the right place to ask a question about the conversion of FSX sceneries to X-Plane.

I found an interesting product on this site: It's a complete scenery of the ELLX airport with surroundings (I live in Luxembourg). If I buy this product, do you think there is a way to obtain the sceneries in X-Plane with a tool? Gamemodes Samp Role Play Download on this page. I'm totally newcomer in matter of scenery creation, so, I have no idea what's the work amount to 'transform' this to an X-plane scenery. A lot of technical details that I don't understand are explained in the aforementioned website. Do you think there is a way to get this scenery in X-Plane? I'm using a 2007 Mac Pro with OSX 10.6.2. Thanks for your help.

'Configuration Tool for control of all seasons, as required; Activation/Deactivation tool of static aircraft' This configuration tool will be for Windows.

And, Mac or not Mac, a lot of things will not be converted: 'Detailed Mesh for all of Luxembourg', 'Landclasses were revised' (mesh and landclass are not working the same way in FSX and X-Plane), 'Animated gates at Terminal A' (Animations are not converted), 'AI-traffic compatible; The AFCAD-file contains all live parking positions', 'GA-traffic included with aircraft and expanded for add-ons of VFR-airfields' (AI-Traffic not converted). Daniel
Thanks for answering. At the beginning, I was sure that this will not be possible 'as it is'.

I thought that with some conversion utilities like FS2XPlane it is possible to transform all the landscape and classical scenery stuff. Ill the automations like gates and other, I don't need that. I only want a nice static scenery of Luxembourg Airport and city. I wanted to try to ask official plans of the Airport with all the approach light positions an trying to make myself a scerey of only the airport. Is that Mission Impossible?
I've successfull converted some sceneries (German Airports 2) with fs2xplane 3.11:-) I like the result very much, but 2 things happened: 1.) The runways lost their marking, they're just pale grey now.

2. Skat 3000 Special Edition Kostenloser. ) Taxiing on ground, ramps or taxiways makes me sick, because every airplane is bouncing and shaking as if it was rolling cross-country or off-road. This behaviour stops when I reach the runway. Any advices how to 'repair' this?
Congratulation for the good conversion. 2 is caused by the apt.dat in the nav dat folder in the (!) scenery folder of the german airports.

Go there and I am sure you will find a file with the name fullapt.dat. Rename that to apt.dat and you should be sorted. 1, go into the Overlay-Editor and have a look whether there is a texture covering the runway. Might be your problem is solved with the renaming of fullapt.dat into apt.dat Good luck Chris.
Can you do this on a Mac, considering there is no Mac version of Microsoft Flight Simulator?
You can do this. There is a mac version of FS2X-plane.

May I request something real quick of you Marginal? I am a big fan of highly detailed sceneries and one scenery that I am particularly interested in is KORD by FSdreamteam. But I've read earlier in this thread that it doesn't work. I'm asking if you could spend just maybe an hour, playing around, trying to crack the code for this and other FSdreamteam sceneries?

It would be much appreciated. I've wanted good KORD scenery for ages, this is the only scenery above the quality of ted's. Hi all, I'm new to X-plane and FS2Xpl. I do have some problems converting scenery's from MSFS to Xplane 9.5.

I'm trying to convert the Brussels scenery. I did try the FS9 version and FSX, all two with different result. When I test the converted FSX scenery everything is in the right place, I only get a strange gray ground texture overlapping. I tried to delete it with Overlay editor without any result. FS9 version is allmost working perfectly, only some minor texture problems as you can see on the folowing screenshots. [URL=[URL=[URL=[URL=With the FS9 version there are some stranges lines on the taxiways.

I included the summary's. I hope someone can help me out on this. Kind Regards Jorik.
